CM dedicates development projects of around Rs. 20 crore in Dharmshala

Dharamshala, November 17, 2016: Chief Minister, Shri Virbhadra Singh on his visit to Dharamshala today inaugurated various development projects including Helipad at Rakkar (Thehru) at a cost of around ? 50 lakhs and bridge over Manooni Khad to connect Sokni Da Kot-Rakkar Panchayat completed with an outlay of ? 1.33 crore.
The Chief Minister also inaugurated elegantly constructed auditorium of Government Degree College at Dharamshala constructed with an outlay of ? 6.70 crore with seating capacity of 1000 persons.
While speaking after inaugurating the college auditorium he said that the foundation stone of this auditorium was also laid by him and at last an excellent auditorium had come up. He said that the government considers this college as a Model College and was always endeavouring to provide all possible assistance for growth and development of this college. He said that Congress Party was synonyms of development and was committed to strengthen the infrastructure of educational institutions including centres of higher learning.
He said that today Himachal Pradesh was the best Big State in field of education and inclusive growth and we should be proud of it. Modern educational teaching equipments were the need of the hour including making classrooms sessions more interactive and full of infotainment, he said.
He also inaugurated Traction Elevator of Regional Forensic Science Lab (RFSL) Dharamsala installed with a cost of ? 23 lakh.
The Chief Minister laid foundation stone of Water supply Scheme Salig-Jutehar at Narwana and WSS Kaned-Barwala at Barwalaat Barwala to cost ? 4.80 crore and rupees four crore respectively.
He also performed Bhoomi Poojan of balance work of Mouli Ther-Sokni Da Kot to Panchayat Ghar Patola road to be constructed at a cost of ? 2.23 crore.
The Chief Minister visited the office of Navjeevan Foundation, ‘Helping Hands’ an NGO at Narwana Kasba and appreciated the work being done by NGO which was also supplementing the efforts of the government in bringing awareness in various fields concerned with Child and Women Welfare, Prohibition, Environment protection, Tourism and self employment related activities etc. Ms. Shagun Mankotia, from the foundation briefed about the activities of the NGO.
Earlier, in the morning, Transport Minister, Shri GS Bali, Urban Development Minister, Shri Sudhir Sharma, and MLAs including, Shri Sanjay Rattan, Shri Ajay Mahajan, Shri Yadvinder Goma and Chairman, KCCB, Shri Jagdish Sapheiya accorded warm welcome to the Chief Minister who landed at Rakkar (Thehru) Helipad near Dharamshala.
