Dharamshala, February 16, 2019: Chief Minister Shri Jai Ram Thakur paid his last respect to Shaheed Tilak Raj a CRPF personnel martyred in the Pulwama terror attack on 14th of this month. Chief Minister visited the native village in Jawali area of Kangra district today, and laid the wreath. The cremation was performed around 2 pm. CM pays last respect to martyr Tilak Raj by laying wreath on the coffin of the Martyr draped in tricolour. While consoling the martyr's father Shri Layak Ram, mother, wife and other family members the Chief Minister said that the martyr Tilak Raj laid down his life for the nation's sake and in this hour of grief, the State government was solidly standing with the family. We will give whatever assistance they require, he said. The Chief Minister took part in the last journey of the martyr which was held with full state honours at his native village. Brother of the martyr Baldev Singh lit the pyre. Villagers kept chanting "Shaheed Tilak Raj Amar Rahe" and also raised anti-Pakistan slogan. Meanwhile, interacting with the media present on the occasion, the Chief Minister described the killing of soldiers as a cowardly act by the terrorist backed by Pakistan. He said that such nefarious designs of evil forces would not succeed and the nation will give befitting reply to the Pakistan. Jai Ram Thakur said that apart from a financial assistance of Rs. 20 lakh to the kin of the martyr the State government would provide all possible assistance to the family and government employment to the wife of the martyr. Shekhawat, DC Kangra Sandeep Kumar, SP Kangra Santosh Patiyal, RO Indian Army Yol Cantt. Col. Manish Dhiman and people from different walks paid their last respect to the martyr. Earlier, the mortal remains of the martyr Tilak raj reached his parental, Dhewa village Jawali in Kangra at 10 am this morning. The cremation of the martyr Tilak raj of Kangra district was performed afternoon today. CM Jai Ram Thakur, Central health Minister J P Nadda attended it along with several other politicians and officers of the state. Earlier a special army plane caring 6 bodies of martyrs including 1 of HP 4 of Punjab & 1 of J&K, arrived at Pathankot airbase at 11PM last night. Himachal Pradesh Food and Civil Supply Minister Kishan Kapoor along with DC Sandeep Kumar, SP Santosh Patial , with many others brought the mortal remains of Martyr Tilak Raj from Pathankot to Nurpur (Himachal) at midnight, for a night halt and carried over the same to martyr’s village in the morning toady.
