Chandigarh, May 18, 2016: The Punjab Chief Minister Mr.Parkash Singh Badal today called up Sikh religious preacher Baba Ranjit Singh Dhadrianwale and assured him of all steps needed to ensure security for him in the wake of an attempt in Baba's life near Ludhiana yesterday.
Strongly condemning the brutal and dastardly assault on the religious preachers life, the Chief Minister said, "Violence has no place in a civilized society and runs against the teachings of the great gurus, saints and seers."
The Chief Minister also conveyed his sincerest condolences to the members of the family of one of Baba's close associates who lost his life in the assault on the preachers life. Mr. Badal also conveyed his sympathies and support to others who were wounded in the attack.
Meanwhile, the Deputy Chief Minister Mr. Sukhbir Singh Badal, condemning the incident in the strongest words, has directed Inspector General of Police Paramraj Singh Umranangal to personally oversee the case and ensure expeditious investigation.
The Deputy CM said that the guilty must be brought to book immediately.
"Not a single person responsible for the cowardly attack would be allowed to escape the long reach of law. Five of the alleged assailants had already been apprehended and the police are closing in fast on the rest of them, said the Deputy CM.
