The delegation also met Mr. Vandan Shah, Executive Director, Veena Diecasters & Engineers Limited and discussed various key factors important for the industrial development. While interacting with delegation members, Mr. Shah said, “Punjab based entrepreneurs are acknowledged worldwide for their enterprising skills, innovative ways of doing businesses and a number of organizations from this region have contributed to the Indian economy to a large extent and also succeeded in making their mark at global level.  But there are certain areas like partnerships, Joint Ventures with Multi Nationals organizations and scaling up from existing level, where the Punjabi organizations has not able to take forward steps as compared to organizations operating in States Like Maharashtra and Chennai, Punjab based entrepreneurs should thoroughly think about it as this may fasten their growth and up gradation”.

Mr. Shah also said that a similar Mumbai/ Maharashtra’s business delegation to Punjab industry will also be planned soon, where entrepreneurs from both the regions will be able to share their views and expertise for mutual benefits.

Ms. Sandeep Minnie Riat, Managing Director, Akal Spring Limited said that “The objective of delegation’s visit was  to do a Visioning Exercise with  industry leaders forma state like Maharashtra. Ludhiana is recognized as an industrial hub in the Northern region and industrial segment like auto components, cycle and parts, hosiery, sewing machines, agriculture tools, combines, parts and hand tools dominate in this part of region. The significance of the contribution made by the entrepreneurs in Punjab is highly undervalued. It may be because of our own lack of vision and exposure to higher standards of operations existing in the manufacturing and service sector and the result of this is that every year we find ourselves slipping down and losing many advantages. Interacting with business leaders like Mr. Anand Mahindra can surely guide us to contain the phenomenon of downward sliding and encourage us to explore new ways to regain growth momentums.  The vision of such great visionaries is worth to be followed by us to succeed in our respective sectors.

Mr. Neeraj Satija, Chairman, CII Ludhiana Zone also shared his views on Mumbai visit and said that, “It was pleasure meeting and interacting with business Leaders like Mr Anand Mahindra & Mr Vandan Shah at Mumbai.  Interaction with Mr. Mahindra and his views on Make in India, up scaling of an organization to next level, disruptor theory for entrepreneurs and sustainability for industry was amazing. It was a wonderful interaction with one of the most prominent Business Leader of India’s post liberalization era. Also we as an entrepreneur should look at exploring business opportunities through Partnerships and Joint venture, as this will automatically help our  industry or organization to scale up/ upgrade to next level as suggested by Mr. Vandan Shah. CII will continue to organize similar interactions for our industry members on regular basis with visionaries and CEOs of Indian multi nationals, which will surely help us in our industry’s growth and development”.

Mr Neeraj Satija also requested Mr Anand Mahindra & Mr Vandan Shah to consider investing in Punjab, as the Govt. of Punjab offers various  benefits and subsidies to industry,  such, as subsidy on electricity and VAT, continuous supply of high quality power, no problem of Labor Unions or labor unrest, peaceful working atmosphere. With investments from organizations  like Mahindra Group, the  whole state would be benefited, such as development of ancillary units i.e. suppliers to parent companies and this will also lead to huge employment generation in state.

The delegation was joined by Managing Directors and Directors from Punjab based prominent companies like Majestic Auto Limited, Hallmark Healthcare, Moonlight Auto, Impact Group, Akal Spring Limited, Youngman Woolen Mills P Limited, Zamindara Farm Solutions Limited, Emson Gears Ltd &  National Iron & Steel Industries Ltd.
