CICU president Avtar Singh gets new responsibility

Ludhiana,  December 1, 2014: In a statement released today Upkar Singh Ahuja, General Secretary (CICU) has expressed deep sense of gratitude and indebtedness to Parkash Singh Badal, Chief Minister Punjab for appointing renowned Industrialist Avtar Singh President CICU (Chamber of Industrial and Commercial Undertakings) as a member of State Level Consultative Committee for Environment and Committee for Specific Major Industries of Importance in Punjab. He is also Chief Executive Officer of Ludhiana Effluent Treatment Society.
The 15 members newly constituted committee comprising Senior Level State Officers, Top Industrialists and Key Persons of Associations, has been assigned the task to implement recommendations of Punjab Governance Reforms Commission (PGRC). The committee would regularly deliberate on advising different industries to install best available and techno-economical technologies to make contribution in saving the environment. This will enable Punjab Pollution Control Board and Punjab Industry to collectively tackle pollution.
The captains of Punjab Industry and other Industrial Associations have hailed this appointment. The industrial leaders have expressed confidence that Avtar Singh will contribute significantly in bringing the much needed improvements regarding installation of best available and techno-economical technology to achieve prescribed pollution standards.  “We are sure that under his able guidance Industry will get required relief from Pollution related problems and issues concerning specific major industries”, remarked Upkar Singh.
