CICU organizes inaugural function of league match of 6th CICU Corporate T-20 Cricket Tournament- 2019

Ludhiana, October 21, 2019: Formal Inaugural Function of Sixth CICU Corporate T20 Cricket Tournament 2019 was celebrated today at Cricket Ground of SCD Govt. College for Boys Ludhiana on October 20 with great excitement. Sh.Arvinder Singh Ranga - IRS, Commissioner of Customs Ludhiana who was the Chief Guest to inaugurate the function by playing the first ball of the first over at the cricket ground. He congratulated CICU Management for organizing this tournament in last 5 years and wished a great success for Sixth CICU Corporate T20 Cricket Tournament 2019. He further said sports are integral part of corporate team building and motivation. He appreciated CICU endeavour to build up a team spirit and develop expertise to grow corporate business and achieve new heights by shaping the industries of tomorrow. He also appreciated and honored Cricket Management Committee of CICU for making best arrangement for the tournament. He also signed the bat and balls of players and cricket lovers. Sh. Upkar Singh Ahuja President CICU welcomed the Chief Guest, Sponsors, Teams and Other Cricket lovers. He further said that now cricket has become India’s national sport. He played the 2nd ball of the first over to motivate the Teams Players to boost their morale. Sh. Pankaj Sharma, General Secretary, CICU, a regular cricket player and great cricket lover said that Ludhiana is full of cricket fans and a lot of enthusiasm is seen among youngsters for this tournament. Watching your sport live at the cricket ground is a fun filled and awesome experience. He played the third ball of the first over and discussed the best practices of cricket. Today, Group – A league match was played between Vardhman Special Steels Ltd. V/s. Kundan Lal & Sons. The toss was won by Vardhman Special Steels Ltd. and decided to bat first. They scored 183 runs in 20 overs by losing 5 wickets and Kundan Lal & Sons scored 114 runs in 18.3 overs by losing 10 Wickets. The Match was won by Vardhman Special Steels Ltd. team by 69 runs. Mr. Ravinder Singh batsman of Vardhman Special Steels Ltd. scored 62 runs with 8 fours in 54 balls was declared the best player. Group – B league match was played between New Swan Enterprises Unit - I V/s. Highway Industries Ltd. in the Evening session. The toss was won by New Swan Enterprises Unit - I and decided to bat first. They scored 67 runs in 17.1 Overs by losing 10 wickets and Highway Industries Ltd. scored 69 runs in 8.3 overs by losing 3 wickets. The Match was won by Highway Industries Ltd. team by 7 wickets. Mr. Deepak Mehta batsman of Highway Industries Ltd. scored 23 runs with 4 fours in 19 balls was declared the best player. CICU Management congratulated the winner Teams of today’s League Matches.
