CICU organises Infocom SME Roundtable – 2013 Symposium on theme “empowering SMEs for india-2020”

Ludhiana, August 26, 2013: Avtar Singh, General Secretary, Chamber of Industrial and Commercial Undertakings (CICU), Ludhiana said that SMEs are passing through crucial time and struggling for their survival,   CICU is taking up their issues with Central & State Governments seeking solutions for their growth and development in this adverse economic scenario. 

CICU organised INFOCOM SME Roundtable CONFERENCE-2013 on the theme “Empowering SMEs for India-2020”.

This unique event was sponsored by Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI), Investors’ Protection Fund and SME Rating Agency of India (SMERA).

Upkar Singh Ahuja, Joint Secretary, CICU, informed that the “INFOCOM SME Roundtable” aimed to bring together the different Stakeholders from Small & Medium Enterprises (SMEs) vertical, industry and government from across the country who discussed on key factors that can bring further growth and development of this segment.  The main objectives highlighted in this conference are as under: Growth potential of SMEs in the current economic situation, new opportunities and various schemes offered by Banks, leveraging IT in forming marketing policy for SMEs and government policies relating to SMEs development.

He further that SMEs participated and interacted with the Experts and Industry Leaders of their invaluable insights in the Panel Discussion.  The Panel was chaired by Shri Anup Jayaram, Associate Editor, Business World and consisted of prominent speakers viz-a-viz; Umesh Chandra, DGM, Zonal Business Office, SBI, Ludhiana, Javed Siddiqui, DGM,SIDBI, Ludhiana,  Ajay Thapar, Head, SME Segment, BSE Ltd., Mumbai, Siv Kumar, Senior Manager – Head Delhi, SMERA, Avtar Singh, General Secretary, CICU and Upkar Singh Ahuja, Joint Secretary, CICU.
