CICU Organises industrial interaction with Karan Avtar Singh

Ludhiana, August 2, 2013: An Industrial Interaction was held at CICU Complex, Focal Point, Ludhiana with Karan Avtar Singh IAS, Principal Secretary of Industries and Commerce Punjab, to solve the problems being faced by Ludhiana Industry.

Karan Avtar Singh said that the industry is a great revenue and employment generator and declared as under:

Ø  Amendment in Master Plan Ludhiana is due in September 2013. After carrying out survey of areas where both residential and commercial units exist, necessary amendments will be done for categorising Mix Land Use areas.

Ø  Briefing on Exhibition Center which is long pending demand for Ludhiana Industry, he said that PSIEC will pay responsibility of converting seven acres of Knitwear Facility Center into world class Exhibition Center for Industry. 

Ø  Required initiatives will be taken to develop Ludhiana as clean, green and pollution free city. GM, DIC Ludhiana will coordinate in this project to be completed in next 2-3 years.

Ø  He requested CICU Office Bearers for paying visit to Andhra Pradesh specially Hyderabad  where common industrial infrastructure has been developed significantly in order to resolve  issues relating to funding, sewerage, repair & maintenance of roads and internal working of SPV under Punjab Industrial Infrastructure Maintenance Act. 

Ø  Assured to provide support and assistance available from the State / Central Government for the growth & development of Industry.

Ø  Released catalogue of International Engineering Technology & Sourcing Show (IETSS-2013) to be held by CICU from November 29 to December 2 this year at GLADA ground Ludhiana.

He presented memorandum to Karan Avtar Singh, highlighting, Establishment of New Focal Point near Ludhiana, Granting Fiscal Incentives to existing industrial units, Review of E-Trip Policy, Providing common Exhibition Center for Ludhiana Industries, Issue of Industries in Mix Land Use area, Up gradation Bicycle & Auto Parts Research & Development Center, Implementation of Punjab Industrial Infrastructure Maintenance Act, Skill Development Scheme to be Popularized, Technology up gradation and Brand Equity Fund for Cluster Development, Allotment of Land Acquired & Unused Unutilised Plots of PSIEC for Industrial Use, Utilisation of UNIDO and Central Pollution Control Board Funds, Withdrawal of Condition for 'zero' Liquid Discharge for Pickling, Phosphating, Debrasing and Wire Drawing industries, Speeding up Repair of  Remaining Roads & Sewerage System, and Development of Parks of Focal Point.
