Ludhiana, May 28, 2015: The international level event to strengthen bi-lateral trade ties between India and Australia to boost export especially from Punjab region was held in the evening on Wednesday at Hotel Park Plaza, Ferozepur Road, Ludhiana.
Sh. Upkar Singh Ahuja, General Sectary CICU gave detailed presentation regarding strength of Punjab Industry, highlighted specific products manufactured in Punjab which can be exported to Australia and vice-versa. He laid emphasis on following steps to be taken for increasing trade between Australia and Punjab: Australian Participation in International Engineering Technology Sourcing Show 2015 being organized by CICU; Tie-up with Australian Association and CICU; Buyer Seller Meet at CICU Ludhiana; Business Delegation to Australia; Business Delegation from Australia and Trade Data Exchange.
Mr. Ian Britza, Acting Speaker Western Australia Parliament said that the primary objective of visit is to invest in Punjab to eventually develop Industry to become a manufacturing base for export to Australia, which is presently heavily dependent on China. During visit to various factories he has visualized the strong talent and the potential of Punjab Industry for producing high quality products
Mr. Jim (Amit) Seth, Vice President Liberal Party of Australia said that there is a big potential for Punjab industry to grow. He assured full cooperation and support to spur growth in manufacturing sector for providing backup of exports to Australia. This mega opportunity will also enhance prosperity, generate employment and transform Punjab’s economy.
Sh. Avtar Singh, President CICU whole heartedly welcomed Australian investment in Punjab’s industry. He invited Australian Companies to invest in agriculture & food processing, high tech agriculture machinery, textile & light engineering and renewable energy.
