Ludhiana, August 24, 2012: The first ever Expo on IT and Communication industry was today inaugurated by Sharanjit Singh Dhillon, Minister for PWD , Punjab at CICU Complex, Focal Point, Ludhiana.

Speaking on the occasion, Dhillon said that presently main emphasis of Punjab Government is on saving traditional industry for their survival. Punjab Government is considering to allot industrial plots at reasonable rates for growth and development of specially mixed land use industrial units.

A special meeting of 10-12 prominent industrialists representing all sections of industry will be shortly convened with Sukhbir Singh Badal, Deputy Chief Minister Punjab to resolve main industrial issues, he said, dding Punjab industry will be provided better facilities that are available in Gujarat State.

Adding, he said Sahnewal Airport will be developed on world class pattern. Ludhiana Metro which will be linked with Focal Point, Major Educational Institutes and Hospitals for the welfare of industrial labor and public at large. The repair of roads in Focal Point Ludhiana is in progress and those requiring major repairs will be constructed as metaled roads shortly.

All prominent speakers representing various industrial sectors appreciated and applauded the role and efforts of CICU especially Inderjit Singh Pardhan President, Avtar Singh General Secretary and Upkar Singh Joint Secretary for organising Infocomm-2012 for uplifting MSME Sector by using IT and Communication technologies which will enable MSMEs to adopt e-business techniques to enhance efficiency, manage costs, attain competitive edge and develop exposure to global market.

The response to this first kind of exhibition in Ludhiana has been overwhelming both from the visitor’s as-well-as exhibitors. 40 foremost companies are exhibiting their capabilities in this exhibition. Leading IT and communication major Sony, Dell, Lenovo, Apple India, Hewlett Packard, Accord EPAX Systems, Epson Printers, Gulzar Group of Institutes, State Bank of India, BSNL, Logic Software Solutions, Smarnet Energy Savers have participated directly are through their respective channel partners.
