Ludhiana, October 29, 2017: Sh. Upkar Singh Ahuja, Officiating President, CICU in a statement released said that the Government of Punjab promised to supply electricity to industrial sector at Rs 5 per unit. On the other hand Government has imposed tariff from the period 01.04.2017. It is the first time that the the rates are being charged from the previous date.
He further said that the units are facing tuff competition in the National as well as the International market due to the various factors. He said that industry needs some concessions to upgrade and for their better survivor.
All the units appealed to the Government and the authority to change the decision of the rates of the electricity/power for the industry as well as for the domestic by the next month. They said that the next meeting will again organize after 10 days related to this matter. Otherwise, Chamber will take this matter to the Court.
This meeting was attended by key industrialists and Association members namely S/Sh. Phuman Singh, Inderjit Nagpal, Harsimarjit Singh Lucky, Didarjit Singh, Sanjay Dhiman, Harjeet Singh, Jaswinder Pal Singh, Sham Lal Gupta, S.K Mehta, Vinod Dhall, Charanjit Singh, Sharanpal Singh, Raman Sachdeva, Kanish Kaura, S.S Bedi, N.K Gupta, Shasheesh Saini and others were present.
