Ludhiana, March 22, 2019: The Annual Convocation of Christian Medical College, Christian Dental College, College of Nursing and College of Physiotherapy, Ludhiana was held on 22ndMarch 2019with traditional grandeur in the College Campus Prof.(Dr.) Raj Bahadur, Vice Chancellor, Baba Farid University of Health Sciences, Faridkot was the Chief Guest.

Dr.William Bhatti, Director welcomed the gathering and mentioned that CMC Ludhiana is celebrating 125 years of glorious service to the nation. Dr.Jeyaraj D Pandian,Principal, Christian Medical College, administered the Hippocratic Oath to the Graduates and presented the Annual Report of the College highlighting the achievements, awards and honors won by the faculty and the students.

The Chief Guest Prof. (Dr.) Raj Bahadur appreciated the role of CMC in providing quality medical education and health care for the past 125 years. He appreciated the contribution of graduates of CMC in serving the Rural Missions Hospitals in India. He urged the graduates to be responsive to the health needs of the society and fulfill their mandate of providing holistic health.

86 Graduates were awarded the degrees. Students excelling in various academic activities were awarded Prizes and Medals by the Chief Guest.Uday Modi, Manika Chaudhry, AbhilashaSahil, Anmol Malhotra, Hunar Mahal, SameeraKohli, Macwan Annie Augustin, RahilMasihwere the prominent prize winners. KhushbooSalujawon the Vipin Khanna memorial Gold Medal for best intern. Dr. Anish Philips was awarded Dr. Jaswant Kaur Gill Memorial award for best outgoing Medicine Resident. Dr. Elizabeth Mary John was awarded Dr. Sheila Singh Paul Memorial Award for best resident in Pediatrics. Dr. Vinodhini V Award for best resident in Diploma in Child Health, Dr. Joshua Victor was awarded Dr. Abraham G. Thomas award for the best outgoing resident in Surgery, while Dr. Rejul K Rajreceived the Faculty award for the best outgoing Orthopedics resident. Dr. CelinSowmya S received the Shri Janak Raj Singla Memorial award for best outgoing resident in Radiodiagnosis. The College of Nursing toppers include (B.Sc) BinijaMerin Varghese, Simar, RekhaSalhotra, Navneet Kaur, (M.Sc) Suman Kumari and Kanika Sharma.

Students of the College of Physiotherapy excelling in various Academic activities were awarded prizes and medals by the Chief Guest. Ms. Nistara Singh Chawla was awarded the S. Beant Singh Sahnan memorial award for standing first in the college (Aggregate all the four years). Ms. Anchal Goyal, Ms.Diksha Bharti, Ms. Harsimrankaur and Ms. Hanisha Goyal were awarded with Gold medals for standing first in college 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th prof. respectively.While Ms. Blessy Philip was awarded with Ms. Elaine Unkles award for best outgoing intern (batch 2013) during her period. 21 Students from Physiotherapy College were awarded with degrees.

Overview of faculty achievements was presented by the Principals of the Medical College, Dental College, College of Nursing and the College of Physiotherapy.

The Association of Medical Alumni awarded the Life Time Service award to Dr. Saroj Chaudhary. Dr.V. K.Satijamemorial Award for best Clinical Teacher was presented to Dr. Sarah Valson while the batch of 1976 Excellence in Teaching Award was awarded to Dr. Lydia Solomon. Dr. Eileen B. Snow-CMC Alumni award for best all- round graduate to Mr. Raj Pratik.Dr. George Koshy, Registrar proposed the vote of thanks.
