CHOKING of sewerage system in colonies of Ferozepur

Ferozepur, July 31, 2013: There is apprehension of repeating the same tragic story in Ferozepur.  About 20 children and women had died some years back on account of consuming the water in the  pipes  mixed sewerage pipe lines in the areas of Basti Bhattia (Bharat Nagar) and Basti Aava. In these colonies again for the last so many months, the sewerage pipes have choked and water blocked in the streets is giving a foul smell in the area and residents have started facing the attack of diarrhoea  typhoid and skin diseases.

Giving this information, the residents of Ward No.3 said, due to blockage of sewerage in the streets, the streets are flooded with sewerage water with the result the people of the area have become victim of serious diseases.  Despite bringing this to the notice of district administration, no action has so far been taken.

The residents of the area have submitted a memorandum to the deputy commissioner with a warning that in case, there is no solution to the problem, within 48 hours; the residents of the area will resort of agitation on the roads blocking all the main routes.
