Chief Secretary held video conference with Deputy Commissioners

Dharamshala, November 9, 2016: Chief Secretary V.C.Pharka held video Conference on Wednesday with all the Deputy Commissioners of Himachal Pradesh regarding effective implementation of the two major social campaigns focusing at identification of eligible disabled person for social security pension and early registration of pregnancies to keep check on child sex ratio. These campaigns were recently launched by the State Government.
Pharka directed the Deputy Commissioner Kangra, to ensure that goal to examine maximum number of disabled persons before World Disability Day on 3 December, 2016 was achieved so that all eligible persons would get social security pension from 1 January, 2017.
Deputy Commissioner Kangra informed the Chief Secretary that in district Kangra as many as five blocks viz Palampur, Dehra, Baijnath, Dharamshala and Nagrota Bagwan had been covered in the district and 539 persons were examined, out of which 213 persons were issued disability certificates.
It was informed that in Kangra district, the remaining camps would be organized on 11th November at Tiara, on 15 November at Nurpur, on 17th November at Bhawarna, on 18th November at Shahpur, on 22nd November at Indora, on 24 November at Thural, on 25th November at Nagrota Surian and on 29th November at Fatehpur.
Secretary, Social Justice and Empowerment Smt. Anuradha Thakur, Director SOMA, Shri Sandeep Bhatnagar and Senior Officers were also present on this occasion.
