Shri Rajeev Ranjan, CEO Haryana, Shri Amit Khatri, DC, Gurugram along with Shri Pradeep, SDM, and Shri Lokesh Rajput, Gurugram District Youth Ambassador on March 30, 2019 visited Amity University Gurugram campus to guide, motivate and make the students and university employees aware regarding SVEEP (Systematic Voters' Education and Electoral Participation ). Vice Chancellor Prof P B Sharma and DSW Maj Gen G S Bal (Retd) welcomed the guests. The auditorium was packed with eager students desires of attending the session. The program commenced with a wonderful skit by Ek Awaz on “Vote Karo”.
The CEO mentioned that the elections are near and to spread knowledge regarding the voting rights of the citizen the Haryana Government is on its toes and keen to motivate and inform the public as much as they can. Especially the youth which includes a large number of voters who are studying in colleges and university.
While addressing the students Shri Rajeev Ranjan, CEO Haryana said that, “Vote is the right of every Indian citizen. The person who stands at voting booth line, does not just stand in the line but stands in the line of progress of the country.”
“As world is changing for good, the voting process has become easy with the help of internet. You can download Voter Helpline App for the smooth process of making voter id card or for any query and can get any information on the website,” Mr Ranjan added.
Shri Amit Khatri, DC, Gurugram while addressing the gathering said, “Every voter and vote has its value. And I request you to not to take it for granted, India’s progress and development is in your hand.”
While motivating the students Prof P B Sharma, Vice Chancellor, Amity University Gurugram said, “Efforts are made to focus on each and every student to bring out their full potential and empower them with a winning attitude. Our aim is to inculcate leadership, consistency, assertiveness and knowledge in our students. It is important that we make our contribution in selecting the right people for better administration of the country. ”
The session concluded with a vote of thanks by Maj Gen G S Bal (Retd.), DSW, Amity University Gururgram.
