CHARGESHEET: CBI files chargesheet against its DSP and another person

Jalandhar, November 30, 2012:  The Central Bureau of Investigation has filed a charge sheet in the court of Chief Metropolitan Magistrate, Delhi against its DSP and another person U/s 120 B IPC r/w 217 and 218 IPC and substantive offences thereof.

A case was registered on the allegations that the DSP of CBI  was entrusted with investigation of a case against another person related to his caste certificate, wherein it was observed that DSP had recorded statements of witnesses in misleading and distorted manner and allegedly collected manipulated documents in order to protect the accused in that case from likely prosecution. During investigation, it was established that the CBI official, while acting in his official capacity as investigator had entered into criminal conspiracy with the said other person and had committed aforesaid offences.

The public is reminded that the above findings are based on the investigation done by CBI and evidence collected by it. Under the Indian Law, the accused are presumed to be innocent till their guilt is finally established after a fair trial.
