Change your mind to change your world: BK Sister Shivani

Ludhiana: Prajapita Brahma Kumaris Ishwariya Vishwa Vidyalaya Ludhiana has organised series of Inspirational talks by Divine Sister BK Shivani (Awakening with Brahma Kumaris Fame) at Vishwa Shanti Sadan Village Jhande in  the presence of Ludhiana Centre incharge Rajyogini Sister BK RajKumari.                                                                        

In two separate sessions addressing the general public, B.K. Sister Shivani spoke on “Women Empowerment” & “Expectations to Acceptance”.

Sister Shivani said that for centuries the role of the majority of women has been that of a housewife and mother, but women can now choose a career over children and an economically independent life over family responsibilities. Society is trying to grapple with the consequences of this revolutionary change.

She said that expected to be different things to different people, a woman today is challenged to draw upon traditional strengths while continuing to redefine her position in a rapidly changing society. She asked can women stop taking refuge in the familiar security of subservience and passivity, and rise above centuries of oppression to attain new heights?

She said that Spiritual empowerment holds the answer to these questions. It is a unique method of restoring the balance. Such empowerment begins with an understanding of the spirit or soul. The soul’s innate qualities include the strengths of both the female and the male. Spiritual empowerment puts a person in touch with these inner strengths and enables a harmonious balance of the best of the masculine and feminine in the personality. This is the first step toward gender equality.

She also elaborated that the women wing of Brahma Kumaris is committed to offering spiritual empowerment to women across the world. At the same time it endeavors to raise men’s awareness to support this objective as well as to attend to their own spiritual development.

In her another session of Inspirational talk on “Expectation to Acceptance” B.K. Sister Shivani said, when we shift from expecting to accepting, wonderful things begin to happen. First, we open ourselves to surprises. And delight. We become more eager and eventually more thankful. Without expectations, we become more appreciative of what the person provides and what life unveils.

The gathering went into a state of Bliss as she gave a wonderful meditative commentary on how to experience peace!
