Chandigarh, September 17, 2012: On the advice of the Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal, the Punjab Governor Shivraj V Patil today gave nod to the appointment of eminent engineer scientist Chander Mohan as the chairman of the Board of Governors (BoG) of Punjab Technical University.
Disclosing this here today a spokesperson of the Chief Minister’s Office said that the candidature of Chander Mohan was recommended by the Search Committee headed by the Chief Secretary to be appointed as Chairman of BoG, PTU.
It may be recalled that Chander Mohan a visionary entrepreneur and an educationist with his qualities of leadership in the development of India’s Swaraj Tractor, the country’s first major venture Punjab Tractors Ltd (PTL) and also having successfully led PTL for about three decades as CEO and making it a flag-ship company.
Chander Mohan has vast experience in promoting Techno-entrepreneurs. His enormous contribution for promoting the PTL, bridging the gap between the industry and technical education and also Board level appointments in various top level institutions like PEC, PTU itself as member BOG, Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha Technical University, Shriram Institute of Industrial Research, to name a few.
He has also authored a book “From Zero to Blue-chip” in the field of Management in Indian environment and has many national and international awards to his credit.
