CGC’s annual fest PARIVARTAN concludes on a high note
Institution announces new event revolving around the spirit of selfless service to be celebrated annually Buoyed by the enthusiastic response to PARIVARTAN’s theme “Experience the joy of giving”, Chandigarh Group of Colleges (CGC) Landran has decided to celebrate the ‘spirit of selfless service’ through an exclusive, annual event, next year onwards. This was announced by the management of the institution during the concluding day ceremony of the 13th national techno cultural fest of CGC Landran. “The intention is to make our students not just professionals par-excellence but well rounded, caring and sensitive human beings who would be an asset to their organization, communities and the society as a whole,” said Satnam Singh Sandhu, Chairman CGC Landran. 30-plus alumni of CGC Landran were also felicitated on the occasion for their achievements in their respective professions. These also included entrepreneurs and those engaged in social work through NGOs founded by them. The second and last day of the techno cultural extravaganza at CGC Landran showcased cultural diversity as the students from different colleges and schools performed the folk dances of various states of India. These included the traditional folk dance of Rajasthan, Pahaari Naati- the traditional folk dance of Himachal Pradesh, Folk dance from Jammu and Kashmir, Malwai Giddha, Jhumar and Gatka performances from Punjab, in addition to Dances and singing performances in Western song/dance categories, band performances and skits. The winners of competitions in all categories were felicitated with certificates, trophies and cash prizes. Among the first prize winners in various cultural activities were Rock Band Alahada of Asian School of Media Studies (Noida), Carmel Convent School in Solo singing competition, Shri Guru Harkrishan School in Group singing, Doon International School in Bhangra, CGC Landran in Fashion, Kurukshetra University in Skit to name a few. The special highlight of the concluding day’s performances was Spellbinding live performances by Punjabi Singers Sharry Mann and Maninder Buttar that electrified the ambience at CGC Campus. Both the artists enthralled the audience with renditions of their popular numbers. Satnam Singh Sandhu, Chairman CGC and Rashpal Singh Dhaliwal, President, CGC congratulated the faculty and students of CGC for their hard work and thanked all the visiting colleges, schools and universities for their participation.
