Chandigarh Group of Colleges (CGC) Landran has become the zonal partner of project ‘Making Deep Learning and Artificial Intelligence (AI) skills mainstream in India’, sanctioned by the Royal Academy of Engineering, UK under the Newton Bhabha Fund. As a zonal partner, CGC Landran will be the lead institution for training faculty members of 10 more institutions from the surrounding region. A five member research group on AI, comprising faculty members of CGC Landran would be trained under this project.
Recommended by the All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE), the project seeks to make Deep Learning and AI skills mainstream in India so as to fulfill trilateral needs of entrepreneurship, Industry academia partnership and application-inspired engineering research. The initiative also dovetails with AICTE’s ongoing efforts at reforming and enhancing the quality of technical education in the country as also the skills and employability of students in AICTE approved institutions across the country by developing a Model Curriculum with components of AI and Deep Learning.
