Centre should clarify when they will release pending 1200 crore: JAC

Ludhiana, July 14, 2018: A delegation of Joint Action Committee (JAC) comprising 14 different Associations while giving reaction on the Centre government's circular dated 11th July, 2018 asked about the clarification on the pending around 1200 Crore of Post Matric Scholarship (PMS) for Punjab SC students.

Sh. Ashwani Sekheri, Chairman, JAC said that the PMS funds have not been released from last 3 years to the Colleges which has worsened the Financial Condition of the Colleges. This year also before admitting the SC students without fees, Centre Govt should clarify that how much more time is required for the release of pending over 1200 crore funds of PMS.

Sukhmander Singh Chatha, Punjab Unaided Degree Colleges Association(PUDCA); Sh. Vipin Sharma, Confederation of Unaided Colleges Association; Sh. Jagjit Singh, President, B.Ed Federation; Mr. Charanjit Walia, President, Nursing Colleges Association; Mr. Jasnik Singh, B.Ed. Association, PU; Dr. Satwinder Sandhu, B.Ed Association GNDU Colleges etc. were also present in this meeting.

To deliberate on this issue, a meeting of JAC has been called for 16th July for further decision.
