Centre of Gandhian Studies of HMV organised Extension Lecture

Jalandhar, March 20, 2015: Centre for Gandhian Studies of Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya organised an Extension Lecture on the topic Relevance of Gandhian Philosophy & Ideology in the present scenario. 

The key speaker was Prof (Dr.) J.N Sharma, Sr Faculty Member of Gandhian Studies, Panjab University, Chandigarh.  Other speaker was Dr. Mohammad Khalid, Sr. Prof., Deptt. of Pol.Sc., Evening Studies, Panjab University, Chandigarh. 

Principal Dr. Rekha Kalia Bhardwaj welcomed the guests.  Prof. J.N. Sharma emphasised that the Gandhian ideology and his principles are still relevant in the present social conditions of India.  The need of the hour is only to change our mind set.   We have to follow these principles in our life and remained significant in the years to come. 

Prof. Dr. Mohammad Khalid talked about the role of Mahatma Gandhi in the freedom movement and his ideology.  Dr. Kiyanoush Ghalavand, Post Doctoral Research Fellow in the Department of Gandhian and Peace Studies, P.U. Chandigarh was present on this occasion.  Dr. Ghalavand has received accolades for his outstanding contribution in teaching and research in Iran-India.  Advisor, Centre for Gandhian Studies Meenakshi Syal, Dr. Jasbir Rishi, Gandhian Study Centre Coordinator Dr. Rajiv Kumar, Head of Political Science Department Neeta Malik, Alka and Monica were also present.
