CCIT Ludhiana Region issues refund of Rs.307 crore: Nishi Singh

Ludhiana, March 12, 2014: The Chief Commissioner of Income Tax (CCIT), Ludhiana Region Nishi Singh, has stated that the department has taken various steps to handle grievances of tax-pares. Addressing a press conference here on Wednesday, she added till date, Ludhiana Region has issued refund of Rs.307 crore which are 18 per cent more than last year.
She added in order to handle the grievances of taxpayers, month of September was observed as `Rectification and demand verification month’. She revealed that during the current year, three new state-of-art Aayakar Seva Kendras at Jalandhar, Hoshiarpur and Phagwara have been opened. These Aayakar Seva Kendras are an attempt to serve taxpayers and to provide them a hassle-free environment in most transparent and responsible manner.
BK Singh, Additional Commissioner of Income Tax (Headquarters), Ludhiana, BB Nanawati, Commissioner of Income Tax-I, Ludhiana, Binod Kumar, Commissioner of Income Tax-II, Ludhiana and Raman Kumar Goyal, Commissioner of Income Tax-III, Ludhiana were also present at the press conference.
