CBI registers case against Vice-President Income Tax Appellate Tribunal Mumbai

New Delhi/Jalandhar, July 25, 2013: The Central Bureau of Investigation has registered a  case on July 22 this year against Vice-President, Income Tax Appellate Tribunal, Mumbai Under Section.13(2) read with Section 13(1)(e) of the Prevention of Corruption Act-1988 (PC ACT) for possession of alleged assets to the tune of about Rs.3.92 crores which was disproportionate to his known sources of income.

The CBI sleuths, after registration of the case conducted searches at two places in Bangalore and Mumbai. Incriminating documents recovered during the searches are being scrutinised.

The investigation is continuing.
