CBI registers a case against managing director of Mumbai based private firm & others including a CBI official

New Delhi, October 17, 2014:The Central Bureau of Investigation has registered a case against a Managing Director of Mumbai based private firm & Managing Committee Member of Mumbai Cricket Association; a businessman of Mumbai; a Dy.SP rank officer based at Mumbai and other unknown officials & private persons Under Section 120 B of Indian Penal Code (IPC) read with Section 9, 13(2) read with  (13)(1)(d) of Prevention of Corruption  (PC) Act, 1988.
The allegations under investigation are that the MD of private firm in conspiracy with named and unknown public servants was indulging in corrupt activities in the affairs of various Central Government Departments including the Central Bureau of Investigation and exercising his personal influence on public servants for such activities.
Searches were conducted at 10 locations at Mumbai including the office and residence of the accused persons. During this exercise, incriminating documents, cash and pen drives have been recovered.
Investigation in the matter is continuing.
