CBI arrests superintendent & inspector in separate cases of bribery

New Delhi, June 27, 2014: The Central Bureau of Investigation has arrested a Superintendent and an Inspector, both working in Central Excise, Hyderabad in a bribery case of Rs.15,000.
A case was registered U/s 7 of PC Act 1988 against Superintendent, Service Tax, Commissionerate-II, Central Excise, Hyderabad (Andhra Pradesh), on the allegations of  demanding bribe of Rs.15,000 from the Complainant for considering surrender of Service Registration of Comlainant’s firm and showing him favour. The Superintendent, Central Excise had further directed Inspector, Service Tax, Group-IX, Hyderabad to receive bribe amount of Rs.15,000 from the Complainant. CBI laid a trap and the Inspector was caught red handed while demanding and accepting bribe of Rs.15,000 from the Complainant. The Superintendent was also arrested.
In another Case, CBI has arrested a Commercial Porter of South Central Railway, Secunderabad for demanding & accepting a bribe of Rs.40,000 from the Complainant.
A case was registered on a complaint U/s 9 of Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988 & 420 of IPC against a Commercial Porter working in the Office of Senior DCM, Hyderabad Division, South Central Railway, Secunderabad (Andhra Pradesh). The Complainant (A Ticket Examiner, Kachiguda Railway Station, SC Railway, Hyderabad Division) alleged that the accused had demanded bribe of Rs.40,000/- for influencing the CBI officers, Hyderabad to settle & close a complaint against him.  CBI laid a trap and the accused was caught red handed while demanding & accepting bribe of Rs.40,000/- from the Complainant.
All the arrested accused were produced before the Designated Court, Hyderabad and were remanded to Judicial Custody till 09.07.2014.
