New Delhi, July 1, 2014: The Central Bureau of Investigation has arrested a Branch Manager, Union Bank of India, Lohra Branch Atrauliya, District- Azamgarh (Uttar Pradesh) and a private person for allegedly demanding & accepting a bribe of Rs. 15,000 from the Complainant.
A case was registered against Branch Manager, Union Bank of India, Lohra Branch Atrauliya, District - Azamgarh & a private person U/s 120-B of IPC and Section 7 of PC Act, 1988. It was alleged in the complaint that the Branch Manager, Union Bank of India, Branch – Lohra, District - Azamgarh had demanded an illegal gratification of Rs.20,000 from the Complainant through a private agent to release the second installment of the sanctioned loan amount of Rs.3,20,000.
CBI laid a trap and the Branch Manager, Union Bank of India was caught red-handed while demanding & accepting an alleged bribe of Rs.15,000 from the Complainant through a private person.
Both the arrested accused were produced in the Court of Special Judge, CBI, Lucknow and were remanded to Judicial custody till July 9, 2014.
