Dakha, October 16, 2019: Congress candidate from Dakha assembly segment Capt Sandeep Singh Sandhu today interacted with the patients undergoing de-addiction and rehabilitation treatment against drugs at Guru Nanak Multi Specialty Hospital and De-Addiction Centre at village Raqba.
The patients urged him for the simplification of the de-addiction treatment. They told him that the de-addiction treatment had been made too cumbersome and they were being made to complete so many formalities.
Capt Sandhu assured them that he will raise the matter with the Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh. “We want to ensure that whosoever has unfortunately been trapped in this problem comes out without any hassles”, he assured the patients.
The Congress candidate also spoke with the doctors and counselors at the centre and was told that after the Congress government launched a crackdown on drug peddling, the patients started coming to the rehabilitation centres and the patient inflow had increased.
He expressed satisfaction over the reports of now more people going to the rehabilitations centres and trying to get rid of the drugs. “Since you have been the victims yourself, please ensure that the same people who were responsible for spreading this scourge are taught due lesson on October 21”, he urged the gathering.
