Capacity Building Programme on Value Education at BCM School, Dugri

Ludhiana, June 4, 2019: BCM School, Basant Avenue, Dugri Road conducted a Capacity Building Programme on Value Education under CBSE Training Programme on June 4, 2019. Attended by approximately 70 teachers from different city schools, it focused on importance of value education in student’s life. Ms Shabnam Sharma, the Principal of Disciplined Disciples International School , Amritsar and Ms Simmi Jaggi, PGT (English), Sri Guru Gobind Singh Collegiate Public School, Chandigarh were the resource persons of the event. The teachers were briefed about the need of value education and how it can be incorporated in curriculum through classroom studies, during the school assemblies and other school activities. The participants shared their classroom experiences and effective teaching methods for imparting values education. Different activities and group discussions made the session all the more effective.

The Teachers got an indepth idea on character education through handouts and small video clippings. Dr Vandna Shahi, the Principal of the host School highlighted that the objective of such programme is to empower the teacher to enable them in shaping the character of students in a comprehensive manner. She also urged teachers to create a conducive environment and encompass moral value system as an integral component of the teaching process.
