Cancer Awareness Programme organised at Rail Coach Factory (RCF), Kapurthala

Kapurthala February 5, 2019: A Cancer Awareness Programme was organised on Monday on the occasion of World Cancer Day at Lala Lajpat Rai Hospital, Rail Coach Factory, Kapurthala.
In this programme, Dr.Himanshu Shrivastav, a Radiation Uncologist from Capitol Hospital Jalndhar and Doctors from Lala Lajpat Rai Hospital gave educated the general public and cancer patients on various aspects of cancer disease. An exhibition showing various types of cancer, prevention and treatment was also displayed on this occasion. Information about the symptoms of cancer and its prevention was also provided in the exhibition.
Doctors advised the cancer patients and the general public to adopt a healthy lifestyle, as well as to get their medical examinations regularly. To reduce the presence of cancer, they urged people for regular physical activity, weight management, abstinence from tobacco and alcohol.
The program was chaired by Dr. SPS Sachdeva, Principal Chief Medical Officer / RCF while Dr.Suresh Chand Assistant Chief Medical Officer / RCF conducted the program.
