CAMP: NCC Combined Annual Trg Camp By 2 Punjab Bn Begins

Jalandhar, October 26, 2012: The Combined Annual Training Camp-II organised by the 2 Punjab Bn NCC Jalandhar began here on Thursday. 

The camp was inaugurated by Lt Col Raobinder Singh amidst full fanfare.  

In his inaugural address to the NCC cadets, Lt Col Raobinder Singh said that elaborate arrangements were made to make this mammoth camp a great success which will continue for the next ten days  and a total of 600 NCC Cadets are participating in the camp. 

He further said that training in various NCC subjects is being imparted to develop the qualities of fellow feeling, camaraderie, team spirit, leadership traits etc. Separate training is being imparted to selected RDC cadets of Jalandhar Group which included Drill, Flag Area Theme, Cultural Programme and selection of Best Cadets in each wing.

These selected cadets will finally participate in inter Group Competition at NCC Directorate level in Nov 2012 and the final team will participate at Republic Day Parade at New Delhi. Informative and motivational movies will be shown to all the cadets.

Major activities like drill, weapon training, map reading, physical training and firing of .22 weapon, sports competitions and other competitions, lectures on “motivation and personality development”,  “Career on Defence Services by the local Sainik Welfare Officer”,  “a lecture by civil Surgeon Jalandhar on prevention of AIDS and observing personal Health/Hygiene”, and  Lecture and Demonstration on  “Fire Fighting by localfire Brigade Officer”  are planned to becarried out during the camp. 

A  rally on “Traffic Control Abhiyan” will be carried out by 400 cadets who will monitor traffic points under guidance of local traffic police”  and a cultural programme will also be organised during the camp fire on November 1.
