Mumbai: Editage, the flagship business unit of Cactus Communications, has appointed Frank Xu as the Managing Director of Greater China Operations. China is the world’s largest producer of research output in English and, as Managing Director, Xu is expected to drive the future growth and strategy of the group. Xu has over 17 years of experience in scholarly and educational publishing.

Commenting on his appointment, Mr. Xu says, “Editage has a deserved global reputation as an academic editing and author service provider with a unique business model. I am excited to be on board and look forward to working with the team.”

“Frank’s previous experience, extensive knowledge of the Chinese scholarly publishing market, and vast experience in scientific publishing and education are second to none; we are thrilled to have him on board,” said Abhishek Goel, Co-founder, and CEO, Cactus Communications.

Frank was previously the Director of Open Research for Springer Nature Greater China; he was responsible for its open access business in the region and handled marketing, institutional partnerships, thought leadership building, and the OA journal partnership program under Nature Research, BMC, and the Springer Open platform.
