CABINET MINISTER OP SONI TO INAUGURATE SEVERAL DEVELOPMENT PROJECTS ON JANUARY 25

42 GOVT BUILDINGS TO GET FACILITIES FOR PEOPLE WITH SPECIAL NEEDS

Ludhiana, January 24, 2019: Punjab School Education, Freedom Fighter and Food Processing Minister Mr OP Soni, who would be the chief guest on the Republic Day function on January 26, would be inaugurating two development projects and laying foundation stone of one tomorrow, i.e January 25.

While providing information, Deputy Commissioner Mr Pradeep Kumar Agrawal said that the Cabinet Minister would inaugurate an ultra modern sports stadium at Blind School, Chandigarh Road, here. This stadium would have a gymnasium, activity room, football ground, cricket ground, athletics track and other facilities. This stadium has been constructed by Markfed with a cost of Rs 40 lakh.

The Deputy Commissioner informed that Mr OP Soni would also inaugurate a flyover constructed at Manupur Headworks near Doraha on Southern bypass. This flyover connects National Highway 44 with National highway 95. With the start of this flyover, the traffic problem of Ludhiana city would be checked to a large extent.

Besides, the Cabinet Minister would also lay the foundation stone of construction of ramps, railing along stairs and special toilets in 42 government buildings of the district for the benefit of people with special needs. This foundation stone would be laid at the premises of Blind School, Jamalpur, here. He informed that 42 such government buildings have been identified in the district, where all these facilities are to be provided. The total cost of this project would be Rs 15 crore.
