Ferozepur, May 9, 2016: The vigilant BSF troops today recovered two packets of heroin along the zero line of Indo-Pak International border near Border Out Post (BOP) Jagdish in this sector. While giving the details, R.K.Thapa, DIG, BSF(Ferozepur Sector) said that two packets of heroin were recovered during a special search operation carried out by troops belonging to 105 battalion. Thapa said that the international market value of the heroin recovered today was around Rs 10 crores.
Thapa said that keeping in view the vulnerability of border specific operational guidelines have been issued for further strengthening the border domination so as to effectively check the activities of anti national elements on Punjab border with Pakistan. Thapa further said that all field commanders have been directed to maintain extra vigil on border to thwart the attempts of smugglers besides tactical operations are being mounted to foil the attempts of the smugglers during this season.
Once again the enhanced vigil by Border Security Force thwarted the attempt of smugglers and Anti-National Elements to smuggle contraband items into India.
