Ferozepur, December 13, 2015: Once again the BSF sleuths have thwarted the attempt a smuggling attempt and have recovered heroin, fake currency and firearms alongside the International Border in two separate incidents that took place during wee hours today.
R K Thapa, DIG, BSF Ferozepur Sector said that based on specific information about concealment of narcotics in fields ahead of fencing near the zero line, a special search operation was carried by BSF troops belonging to 191 battalion out near border outpost Kulwant, during which one packet of Heroin (450 gms) was recovered. In another incident, the BSF troops belonging to 87 battalion recovered face currency amounting to Rs 5.97 Lakhs besides one pistol with two magazines, 10 rounds of ammunition and Pakistani SIM card. Thapa said keeping in view the thick foggy days ahead, the BSF is opting for tactical operations to hit the sinister designs of anti-national forces to smuggle contraband and arms into Indian territory.
