Jalandhar, January 5, 2013: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested a Doctor working as Head of Department, Airport Health Organisation, Mumbai for demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs.6,900 from the Complainant.

It was alleged in the FIR that an Owner of travelling agency at Thane was approached by three persons to book their tickets for journey to Nairobi (Kenya).  As per rules while visiting African countries, passenger has to get the certificate from Airport Health Organisation for vaccination of Yellow Fever.  For the said purpose, complainant visited the office of Doctor at Sahar Airport Mumbai to know the procedure.  During the discussion, the accused informed complainant that he would issue Yellow Fever Vaccination Certificate without giving vaccination to the passenger but he would charge Rs. 2,300 per passenger.

After registering a case, CBI laid a trap and the accused was caught red handed while demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs. 6,900 from the complainant.

Further investigation is in progress.
