BoF meeting held at PU

Chandigarh, July16, 2018: Prof.Arun Kumar Grover Vice Chancellor(VC), Panjab University (PU), Chandigarh presided over the Board of Finance (BoF) meeting held here today. He informed that during his six years tenure, the process of preparation and approval of budget in PU has evolved a lot. At the outset, one of the members suggested that only essential items be considered in today’s BoF meeting and it was agreed to by all the members present. Therefore, only the Revised Estimates (RE) for the year 2018-19 were discussed and approved.
Apart from this, an agenda item pertaining to the deposition of an amount of Rs. 7,07000/- with General Post Office for issuance of commemorative postage stamp on centenary year of (Late) Prof. Ram Chand Paul, VC PU from 1974-84. The stamp is slated to be issued on October 20, 2018 by the Mr. Manoj Sinha, Minister of Communication, Government of India. A distinguished scientist and eminent educationist, Prof. R.C. Paul played pivotal role in the growth of Panjab University in various capacities.
All other agenda points were deferred to the next meeting.
