BLOCK-LEVEL ESSAY WRITING COMPETITIONS RELATED TO 550TH PARKASH PURAB OF SHRI GURU NANAK DEV JI ORGANISED

Ludhiana, May 3, 2019: Block-level Essay writing competitions related to 550th Parkash Purab of Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji were organised in different government schools of district Ludhiana today. The Punjab government has already decided to hold year round functions to mark the 550th birth anniversary of Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji, the first Sikh Guru and the founder of the faith.

Deputy DEO (Secondary) Mr Ashish Kumar informed that today, block-level essay writing competitions of students from Government Middle Schools, Government High Schools and Government Senior Secondary Schools of 19 blocks of district Ludhiana were held.

The education department today organised essay writing competitions dedicated to the celebrations of 550th year of Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji birth anniversary wherein students wrote about his life and teachings. Students inspired to follow Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji's teachings through their writings and secured first, second and third places.

He further informed that thousands of school students participated in these competitions. More such functions to mark the 550th birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev Ji would be organised in the district.
