Ferozepur, January 6, 2013: The increase of Rs.65 of wheat MSP recently announced by the centre government is negligible as compared to the increase of agricultural inputs to four times, said BKU Makhu Block President Baljinder Singh in a meeting held at Gurudwara Baba Bathan Wala.
He further said, the inputs being used in agriculture are increasing day by day and even the diesel beyond the means of farmers with the result the plight of farmers would be worst than before in the coming days.
On the one hand, the Centre is making the rich the richer by giving heavy tax concessions to the big companies and on the other hand, it is a discrimination with the lower class by withdrawing the benefits of subsidies available to the poor persons and farmers, which the farmers associated with the Bharti Kissan Union (Lakhowal) will not tolerate at any cost.
