Jalandhar, September 13, 2015: B.J.P.State former Media Cell convener Rajat Kumar Mohindru has written a letter to Union Railway Minister Mr.Suresh Prabhu to continue 04495/04496 Fast Passenger Train as Northern Railway introduced temporary running of Jalandhar City- Katra and Katra- Jalandhar City Fast Passenger Train 04495/04496 on trial basis. He added the train was to run up to 30th September 2015, but the Railway authorities suspended the running of this train few days back.
He added now the Railways have extended number of Express Trains up to Katra but even then the Jalandhar City –Katra and Katra – Jalandhar City Fast Passenger Train was a successful train due to its speed and economical railway fare charged from the passengers for this train.
He said there is a demand among the public to attach two A.C.Chair Car Coaches in this train for the convenience of the people going to pay obeisance at Shree Mata Vaishno Devi Temple. He has sought intervention of the Railway Minister to extend the proposal and regularise running of this fast passenger train daily in the larger interest of the public and specially common man.
