BJP MLA from Nurpur constituency Rakesh Pathania demands police district for Nurpur

Dharamshala, December 23, 2018: BJP MLA from Nurpur constituency Rakesh Pathania has demanded a police district for Nurpur(a sub division of the Kangra district of Himachal). While talking to media in Kangra on Saturday he said, “Nurpur is the border area connecting Punjab, and here police force is in small quantity to tackle the drug and mining mafia.” He said that only two full fledged police stations, namely Nurpur and Indora are working there in the entire border area of Kangra district with Punjab, which is not enough. He added that only 66 police personals are working there with the support of two jeeps and four bikes, which is very less to cover the area.

He said, “To create Nurpur a police district is the genuine demand and I hope my government will fulfil it to achieve the best and quick results of drug irradiation.”

53 years old Rakesh Pathania is BJP MP from Nurpur ,began his political career in 1991; remained President, Kisan Morcha, Bhartiya Janata Party, Distt. Kangra; State Secretary, Kisan Morcha, Bhartiya Janata Party and; Member, B.J.P. State Executive.

Elected to Pradesh Vidhan Sabha in 1998 as B.J.P. candidate.Remained Chairman, Tourism Development Corporation.when denied party ticket returned to the Assembly in December 2007 as an Independent.
