BJGVJ APPEALS FOR GREEN DIWALI
Ludhiana, November 5, 2018: Green Diwali should be promoted through education of the students in the school about the hazards of the air and noise pollution caused by crackers. A function was organized at Government High School Sarabha Nagar, S.Ranjit Singh – President Bharat Jan Vigyan Jatha (BJGVJ) and M S Bhatia – Orginasing Secretary BJGVJ speaking on the occasion cautioned that the air pollution caused by the crackers is a cause of serious respiratory problems. The asthmatic persons can land into serious condition. Some of the crackers produced sound up 142 decibels which can cause permanent damage to the ears. They said that nature has enough to fulfill our needs but not our greed. We are destroying the nature and thus pushing ourselves into trouble. Ms.Kusum Lata – Headmasters of the school said that the students should celebrate the Diwali as Green Diwali. Those who participated include Sh.Gurmeet Singh, Sh.Bharpur Singh, Yogesh and Satbir Kaur.
