Bittu raised in Lok Sabha the issue of a recent attack on Ludhiana Church

Ludhiana, December 12, 2014: Member Parliament Ravneet Singh Bittu today raised in Lok Sabha the issue of a recent attack on Kalvari Church in Ludhiana. He brought to the notice of the House that on last 9th December, a 180 year old historic church was attacked by the armed anti-social elements and they while trying to forcibly enter the holy place severely injured a security guard deployed at the gate. Punjab never witnessed such kind of attacks on places of worship of minorities even during the dark days of terrorism, he remarked.

Pulling up the Akali-BJP State Government for its failure in maintaining the law and order situation in the State, Ravneet said the police force in this case instead of taking suitable action against the trouble makers was content in witnessing the incident. Even today the criminals despite the case registered against them are freely roaming the streets of Ludhiana, he said.

It’s sad that such instances are causing irreparable damage to the age old communal harmony, he urged the government to take strict action against the anti-national elements as its not only important for the protection of communal harmony but also for the development of the nation.
