Biological Sciences Summer School in HMV

Jalandhar, June 28, 2017: Faculty of Life Sciences is going to organize DBT sponsored "Summer School in Biological Sciences" under the able guidance of Principal Prof. Dr.(Mrs.) Ajay Sareen from 30th June, 2017 to 6th July, 2017. In this summer school students from various colleges of North region will participate and gain knowledge about latest trends and updates of Biological sciences. To inculcate scientific temper and research aptitude amongst students, renowned scientists will interact with students. They will also conduct hands on training sessions on latest scientific software, instruments like FTIR, PCR, Gel documentation units and experiments like isolation of cells from blood, microbial isolation, genomic DNA isolation will also be done. Latest and innovative Bio-informatics techniques will also be explored by the students. Dr. Umesh Kumar (Scientist, DST, New Delhi), Dr. Rajesh Tandon, Dr. Upma Bagai, Dr. N.K. Srivastva and Dr. Parshant will enlighten students about research developments and career options in the field of Biological sciences.
Principal Dr. Sareen said that this innovative summer school for students in biological sciences is going to be very helpful in choosing career options. On the spot registration for summer school will also be available.
