BIGC, China to felicitate Prof. Kamal Chopra; Rare honour, for the first time ever, for a printer of India

Ludhiana, September 15, 2016: In appreciation of his services towards global printing and packaging especially print education the Beijing Institute of Graphic Communication (BIGC), China decided to award certificate of appreciation and Honorary Professorship to Kamal Chopra. The award ceremony will be organized at the campus of BIGC at Beijing on 17th October, 2016.
In a communication received from the BIGC, Prof. (Ms) Zhang Sheru, Dean of Studies and Director of International Cooperation & Exchange, BIGC said, “Mr. Kamal Chopra, an internationally influential and renowned printer, has had cooperation with our university for over 10 years. He has also actively promoted and propelled the bilateral development in printing industry especially Print Education.” She further said, it will be the honour of BIGC to felicitate prodigious personality like Kamal Chopra who is committed for the international printing packaging industry.
Prof. Luo Xueke, Vice Chancellor of BIGC said, “India is in its prime time of overall development. Indian people are friendly as well as warm-hearted. Indian high education and science are advancing fast and Indian printing industry is on the rapid increase in demand. All these lay sound foundation for further cooperation. Indian printing Association, AIFMP acts as bridge between Sino-India education and printing related industries. Mr. Kamal’s commitment, wisdom, and knowledge will surely contribute greatly to Sino-India communication and cooperation. We are glad and feeling honoured to felicitate him on 17th of October at BIGC Campus at Beijing China.”
Mr. Chopra is a known name in the printing arena world over. A qualified printer and a Gold Medallist in printing technology, Mr. Chopra has many laurels to his credit including the award from H.E. The President of India and Global Print Leadership Award at Chicago USA by NPES. One of his work – the unique 13 page calendar offering a complete history of Printing that goes back to over 100,000 years found place in the Printing History Museum in Beijing, China it is considered a huge contribution to the history of printing. He was also felicitated at Birmingham (UK) by the BUMPSA for his achievements in the printing industry.
While thanking the BIGC, Mr Kamal Chopra said, it is the greatest honour for the printing industry of India; it is for the first time ever that such a felicitation is given to a printer in India. BIGC is the world’s largest printing institute, on the behalf of People-in-Print in India I would like to thank the Vice Chancellor and other authorities of BIGC for considering me for such a felicitations.
