Bar Council of Punjab and Haryana to host Senior Advocates and Bar Leaders delegation from Pakistan

Chandigarh, December 7, 2016: Chairman of Bar Council of Punjab and Haryana, Rajat Gautam today informed the media about the visit of 54 members delegation from Pakistan comprising of Senior Advocates and Bar Leaders to India from 15th January to 21st January, 2016 on his invitation. The guests will play 2nd Indo-Pak Cricket Lawyers Tournament between both the countries to be held from 16th to 18th January, 2016 at Cricket Stadium, Sector-16. On 17th January, 2016 there will be an international conference on “The Role Of Jurists In Strengthening The Democracy In Asia-Pacific Region” between both the countries.
 
Rajat Gautam further told that the Governor of Haryana, Punjab and Administrator, UT Chandigarh will be the Chief Guest on the occasion and Hon’ble Acting Chief Justice of Punjab and Haryana High Court will be the Guest of Honor. The seminar will be attended by the Hon’ble Judges of Punjab and Haryana High Court, all office bearers of different Bar Associations across Punjab and Haryana and other senior bureaucrats from India.
 
This delegation will also visit the Taj Mahal in Agra and the Golden Temple in Amritsar. To further strengthen the ties between both the countries there will also be program organized by Bar Associations of Gurgaon and Amritsar at their respective places. Rajat Gautam said, “The aim of this visit is to create brotherhood between two countries especially in the prevailing circumstances. This initiative is taken by Bar Council on the lines of Hon’ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi and External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj who both had just visited Pakistan to promote good relations between both the countries.”
