Jalandhar, October 18, 2014: Activists, bank employees and officers on the call given by UFBU  staged massive demonstration in front of State Bank of India (main branch) at Jalandhar on Friday in support of their demands. Their main demands included early wage revision settlement.

While addressing protestors, Amrit Lal, Convener UFBU Jalandhar said that 9th BP settlement had expired and wage revision for bank employees and officers was due with effect from November,1,2012. Almost two years have passed and several meetings have been held but attitude of the Government remained warm and casual.

He declared that at the call given by UFBU consisting of five workmen and four Officers Organisations representing total work force  10 lac bank employees and officers will observe full day strike on 12th November,2014 and hold Relay Zonal Strikes from 2nd December to 5th December 2014 to be followed by further strikes including indefinite strike if  the demand of wage revision remains unsettled.

R K Gupta Secretary of NCBE unit of Jalandhar condemned the  irresponsible attitude of the government and exhorted the employees for sustained struggle to achieve our demands.

The demonstration was also addressed by G K Joshi President PBEF Jalandhar Unit , Com K K Khosla Vice President NCBE,  S P S Virk, Com Balraj Sahni, Com.Bakjit Kaur, H S Bir, Lalit Chadha, Com. Dev Datt Sharma and Com Dalip Sharma.
