Jalandhar, April 12, 2019: Baisakhi, a festival symbolizing prosperity, harvest and thrift, was celebrated with splendor at full swing in the premises of Innocent Hearts, GMT, Loharan , CJR and The Royal World International School. The Little ones of Innokids- the Pre- Primary School were attired in colourful dresses. Highly spirited children from KG danced at the heart throbbing beat of dhol. “Punjabi Fair”, displaying rich cultural glimpses of Punjab was the attraction of the day. In the fair the stalls of Bangles, Prandas were laid out. The students of classes VII and VIII took part in Inter House Food Fest, ‘Cooking without Fire’ where they made dishes of Punjab. A special assembly was conducted where the importance, reason and mode of Baisakhi Celebration was explained. A speech was delivered on the life and works of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar- the Father of the Constitution. Inter House Poetry Recitation Competition was conducted for the students of class IV. Heritage Club conducted an activity of paragraph writing for class VI on Baisakhi. The students of Classes VII to X wrote about life and works of Dr. B. R. Ambedkar. Objective behind the celebration of such festivals is to make them connect with the rich Indian Culture. The celebration ended up with the Bhangra by the Innocent kids.
