BADAL URGES PM: Take up matter of temple demolition with Pak


Chandigarh, December 7, 2012:   Taking cognizance of the media reports regarding the demolition of Sri Ram Pir Mandir at Soldier Bazaar, Karachi in Pakistan by certain miscreants, the Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal today urged the Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh to immediately take up this issue at the appropriate level with Pakistan authorities.

In a letter to the Prime Minister, Badal said the sentiments of the Hindu community have been gravely hurt due to this unfortunate incident and thus the violence erupted against Hindus in Pakistan by some mischievous elements.

The Chief Minister sought personal intervention of Dr. Singh to take up this matter with the Government of Pakistan so as to ensure that necessary legal action be initiated by it against these acts of vandalism and violence and to provide security of the life and faith to the Hindus, Sikhs and other minorities in Pakistan.
