Badal for release of welfare funds to panchayats and executive agencies through electronic transfer

Chandigarh, September 14, 2012: In a bid to bring far more transparency and accountability in the smooth implementation of the various welfare schemes in the public interest, the Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal today decided to release funds under these schemes to the concerned village panchayats and other executive agencies through Electronic transfer instead of the existing cheque system. 

Disclosing this here today a spokesperson of the CMO said that Badal has asked the Chief Secretary to issue necessary directions in this regard expeditiously so that the payments under various welfare schemes could be disbursed promptly in the safe hands of the beneficiaries in a transparent manner.
